Re-Issue/Renewal of Machine Readable Passport (MRP)
If you are a first-time applicant for MRP, this page is not applicable to you.
Required Documents:
(a) Regular: US$ 110 Money Order/Bank Cashier’s Check (Expected processing time 60-working days);
(b) Express: US$ 220 Money Order/Bank Cashier’s Check (Expected processing time 45-working days);
(NB: In some cases, processing time may take longer)
Wearing a mask is mandatory for all kinds of service seekers during walk-in or in-person service at the Embassy.
Service by Mail: Applicants may send their application by mail. If so, applicant must provide a self-addressed return envelope with appropriate postage stamps and tracking number for Priority/ Express Mail of the United States Postal Services (USPS) only. Please put it to the attention of the “Passport & Visa Wing”. We will not accept a return envelope unless it is a Priority/Express Mail of the United States Postal Services (USPS);
Applicable for postal applications: All applicants for re-issuance of Machine Readable Passport (MRP) are requested to submit his/her expired or to be expired MRP and relevant documents along with application. This is also informed that applicant’s expired MRP will remain with the Embassy until re-issuance of new MRP to the applicant. Those applicants who are interested in keeping their expired MRP with them, they must come in person to the Embassy to submit their application. Those applicants, who will come in person to the Embassy to submit their application, their expired passport will be returned to them on the same day after some official formalities.
Any incomplete application received by mail will be returned to the applicant without query.
In-person/walk-in applicants are received at the front desk between 10:00 am to 12:00 noon Monday to Friday, except holidays. Delivery time of documents is from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm.
